ANTTI SARPILA ABOUT TONY:

The first studio session with Tony Pajunen on May 24th 2007 confirmed my earlier opinion of Tony as a quite capable musician who has developed his skills through many years of musical education and natural musical talent. I earlier had a chance to see a DVD from Tony’s debut solo recital in 2004, when Tony was only 19 years old. He performed many familiar songs from musicals composed by Broadway celebrities such as Lloyd Webber, Schonberg, Wildhorn etc. with merit and skill.

It surprised me how easily Tony was able to change as a soloist singer from a musical theater style to singing in my Swing Band. Because of how well he was able to adapt, I invited him to perform in Pori Jazz Festival on July 18, 2007 as a singing soloist of Antti Sarpila Swing Band.

Instantly I had a common musical language with Tony which opened doors to a good cooperation. In addition, I appreciate Tony’s clear rhythmics and his ability to sing English songs without an accent, as well as that he always articulates every word very clearly to its end.

I hope and believe that in the future I will makAntti Sarpilae a lot of music together with Tony. There are already some plans.
